My goal quickly became: identify the individuals in the picture and contact their living next of kin.
No easy task, with my limited knowledge of ancestry research! I became a member of several online ancestry sites, and began the process of collecting information. Hours and hours of time were invested reading census reports, local church records, headstones were photographed, historical society meetings, and county court records were sifted through. All in attempt to establish the identities of the eleven other individuals.
Needless to say, I was successful!
The net results of my four years of ancestry research has been to establish relationships with three first cousins previously unknown to me, five new second cousins, and a host of other cousins, including a 7th cousin.
